Telugu supernatural thriller Agadha is now making its way to OTT after completing its theatrical run. Directed by M.S. Raju and starring Kamakshi Bhaskarla in the lead role, the film is set to premiere on ZEE5 on September 25, 2026.
The movie, which was released in theatres on August 14, combines mystery, spirituality, supernatural elements and thriller elements. For viewers who missed the theatrical release or were waiting to watch the film at home, the upcoming ZEE5 premiere brings the movie to a much wider audience.
ZEE5’s official listing confirms the September 25 premiere date, while recent reports from Cinema Express, The Times of India and other Telugu entertainment publications have also confirmed the digital release.
Agadha OTT Release Date and Platform
The Agadha OTT release date is September 25, 2026, and the movie will be available on ZEE5.
The film originally reached theatres on August 14, 2026. After its theatrical run, the makers have now taken the supernatural thriller to the digital platform. Cinema Express reported on September 19 that Agadha was preparing for its digital premiere on ZEE5.
For Telugu OTT viewers, this means the movie will soon be available to watch from home without needing to wait for another streaming announcement.
ZEE5’s official Agadha page also carries the September 25 premiere information, confirming that the digital release date is not just a social-media rumour.
What Is Agadha About?
The story revolves around Mahadevi, played by Kamakshi Bhaskarla, a spiritually gifted woman whose life changes after a series of disturbing incidents.
The situation becomes more complicated when unexplained deaths and the mysterious suicide of her cousin push Mahadevi to search for answers. Her investigation eventually takes her toward a forbidden forest cave, where she encounters a supernatural presence known as Agadha.
From there, the story moves deeper into questions surrounding faith, fear, spirituality and supernatural forces.
The film is not presented simply as a conventional horror story. Its central mystery is connected to Mahadevi’s spiritual abilities and the strange events surrounding her family. The forbidden cave becomes an important part of the narrative as she gets closer to the truth.
ZEE5’s own description highlights Mahadevi entering a forbidden cave to confront the dark entity Agadha.
Kamakshi Bhaskarla Plays Mahadevi
Kamakshi Bhaskarla takes the lead role in Agadha as Mahadevi.
The character is central to the movie because much of the mystery unfolds through her experiences. Her spiritual abilities, the unexplained events around her and her search for answers connect the different parts of the story.
The role also places Kamakshi at the centre of a supernatural thriller where the audience gradually discovers what is happening alongside her character.
Kamakshi has previously appeared in Telugu films and web projects, and Agadha gives her another role built around mystery and suspense.
M.S. Raju Directs Agadha
Agadha is written and directed by M.S. Raju, who has worked in Telugu cinema as both a producer and director.
The film is produced by Kasi Visalakshi Balusu under the Sri Adi Varaha Productions banner.
The supporting cast includes Shravan Reddy, Ulka Gupta, Jovika Vijay Kumar, Roshan Basheer, Bhanu Chander and Vanitha Vijayakumar, along with several other actors.
The technical team includes cinematographer Nani Chamidisetty, editor Junaid Siddiqui and music composer Rakesh Venkatapuram.
A Thriller Built Around Mystery and Supernatural Elements
The main attraction of Agadha is its combination of mystery and supernatural storytelling.
The film begins with disturbing incidents and unexplained deaths before gradually taking Mahadevi toward a forbidden location. As she investigates, the story introduces supernatural forces that are difficult to understand through ordinary explanations.
This creates a narrative where the audience is expected to discover the mystery along with the protagonist.
The spiritual aspect also separates Agadha from a straightforward horror movie. The story deals with ideas surrounding divine and supernatural forces, while the mysterious entity at the centre of the film becomes an important part of the conflict.
Recent reports describe Agadha as a mystic or supernatural thriller with spiritual elements rather than simply categorising it as a conventional horror film.
Agadha’s Theatrical Release
Agadha was released in theatres on August 14, 2026.
The movie received a mixed response during its theatrical run, according to recent entertainment reports. Its move to OTT now gives the film another opportunity to reach viewers who may not have watched it in cinemas.
This is increasingly common for Telugu films, particularly titles that have a specific genre audience. A movie that may not reach every viewer during its theatrical window can potentially find additional viewers once it becomes available through a streaming platform.
The OTT release also makes Agadha more accessible to audiences who prefer watching supernatural thrillers at home.
Why the ZEE5 Premiere Could Attract Thriller Fans
The digital release comes at a time when viewers have a wide range of supernatural and mystery-based content available across OTT platforms.
Agadha has a combination that may interest viewers looking for a Telugu-language thriller involving spirituality, unexplained incidents and supernatural forces.
The film’s story is built around a mystery rather than revealing everything immediately. Mahadevi’s journey into the forbidden cave is one of the key elements that drives the narrative.
For viewers who enjoy entering a movie without knowing its major twists, the OTT release may provide an opportunity to experience the story without giving away its central mystery.
Agadha Cast and Crew
Kamakshi Bhaskarla leads the movie as Mahadevi.
She is joined by Shravan Reddy and Ulka Gupta in important roles, while the supporting cast includes Jovika Vijay Kumar, Roshan Basheer, Bhanu Chander, Vanitha Vijayakumar and others.
M.S. Raju has written and directed the film, while Kasi Visalakshi Balusu has produced it under Sri Adi Varaha Productions.
Nani Chamidisetty is responsible for the cinematography, Junaid Siddiqui handled editing and Rakesh Venkatapuram worked on the music.
Together, the team has created a film centred on supernatural mystery, spirituality and suspense.
Is Agadha Coming to Netflix or Prime Video?
At present, the confirmed OTT platform for Agadha is ZEE5.
There is no confirmed announcement in the latest reports that the movie will premiere on Netflix or Prime Video.
Therefore, viewers looking for the official digital release should look for Agadha on ZEE5 from September 25.
The platform information comes from ZEE5’s own listing as well as multiple recent reports confirming the digital premiere.
What Can Viewers Expect From Agadha on OTT?
Without revealing the film’s major twists, viewers can expect a story involving Mahadevi, unexplained deaths, a mysterious family incident and a forbidden forest cave.
The supernatural entity Agadha becomes connected to the mystery, while spiritual themes add another layer to the story.
The film’s atmosphere is therefore built around questions rather than straightforward answers. What is happening to Mahadevi’s family? What is inside the cave? And what exactly is the supernatural force called Agadha?
These questions form the basic mystery that drives the story.
