The wait for Grand Theft Auto VI is getting shorter. Rockstar Games has officially released the GTA VI Launch Trailer, giving fans another look at Jason and Lucia, the criminal world of Leonida and the trouble waiting for the game’s central characters.
The launch trailer arrived on October 15, 2026, just over a month before the game’s confirmed release. Rockstar has officially scheduled Grand Theft Auto VI for November 19, 2026, with the game launching on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
GTA VI Launch Trailer Is Out
Unlike the earlier promotional videos, Rockstar is officially calling this the Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer.
The new footage continues to follow Jason and Lucia, whose attempt at an easy score puts them at the centre of a much bigger criminal conspiracy across the fictional state of Leonida.
The trailer packs in several familiar GTA elements, including police chases, robberies, nightlife, vehicles, weapons and the unpredictable situations that fans have come to expect from the franchise. Rockstar says the trailer was captured entirely in-game on PlayStation 5.
Jason and Lucia Are at the Centre
The story follows Jason and Lucia, two characters who already know that life is stacked against them.
After a criminal job goes wrong, the pair find themselves caught in a dangerous conspiracy stretching across Leonida. Their relationship becomes increasingly important as they attempt to survive the consequences of their decisions.
Rockstar’s official description suggests that the game will combine the personal story of Jason and Lucia with a much larger criminal narrative.
Back to Vice City
GTA VI returns players to Vice City, Rockstar’s fictional take on Miami.
But the new game expands beyond the city itself, taking players across the wider state of Leonida.
This gives Rockstar a much larger setting to work with compared with the previous Vice City games. The trailers have already shown beaches, highways, neighbourhoods, clubs, rural areas and other locations that make Leonida feel considerably broader than a single city.
New Music From Justice
The launch trailer also introduces new music from electronic duo Justice, who are involved with the original score of Grand Theft Auto VI.
Rockstar has also announced the new Justice single “Flower in a Hurricane”, featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. The track is connected to Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album.
Music has always played a major role in the GTA experience, and Rockstar appears to be continuing that tradition with a major soundtrack and in-game radio lineup.
GTA VI Release Date Confirmed
There is no more uncertainty around the current release date.
Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on November 19, 2026.
The game is officially listed for:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
Rockstar’s official store also lists November 19, 2026 as the release date.
A PC version has not been officially announced by Rockstar at this point.
Why the Launch Trailer Matters
GTA VI has been in the spotlight for years, and Rockstar has carefully controlled how much information it reveals.
The first trailer arrived in December 2023, followed by Trailer 2 in May 2025. Rockstar later released an extended look in August 2026, featuring nearly 27 minutes of in-game footage.
Now, with the launch trailer officially released, the game has entered the final stretch before launch.
For fans who have been waiting since the announcement, the next major event is no longer another reveal — it is the actual release.
