What Is Dilwali Diwali About?
The story follows Ansh Sikka, a young man who has spent several years working abroad. After achieving financial success, he decides to give his middle-class Punjabi parents a better lifestyle by purchasing a beautiful new apartment for them.
However, when Ansh returns home for Diwali, he discovers that upgrading a house is not as simple as he imagined.
His parents have their own understanding of happiness, comfort and what makes a place feel like home. While Ansh believes that a modern apartment can improve their lives, his family values the memories, relationships and familiar surroundings they have built over the years.
As the family comes together for Diwali, their different expectations lead to emotional moments, disagreements and humorous situations.
The central idea revolves around an interesting question: Does a better house automatically create a happier home?
