NTR’s Dragon
Jr. NTR and Prashanth Neel’s highly anticipated pan-India action film Dragon has reportedly added another interesting name to its music team. Composer Shashwat Sachdev, who gained major attention for his work on Dhurandhar, is said to be in talks to compose a few songs for the film.
The development has created fresh curiosity around the movie’s soundtrack, especially because Ravi Basrur is already associated with Dragon as its music composer. However, the makers have not officially confirmed Sachdev’s involvement yet.
Shashwat Sachdev Reportedly in Talks
According to the latest reports, Shashwat Sachdev could contribute selected songs to Dragon. The composer has recently become one of the most talked-about names in Indian cinema following his work on the Dhurandhar franchise.
His reported entry would give the film’s music a different dimension, particularly if his tracks are used for specific situations or characters rather than replacing the existing music team.
Importantly, this should currently be treated as industry buzz, as neither the production house nor Sachdev has officially announced the collaboration.
Ravi Basrur Continues With Dragon
The reported addition of Sachdev does not mean that Ravi Basrur has exited the project.
Basrur is the original music composer associated with Dragon. The official glimpse released by the makers credits him for the film’s music, and his collaboration with Prashanth Neel continues.
If the latest reports turn out to be accurate, Dragon could therefore feature contributions from both composers, with Sachdev handling selected songs while Basrur continues his broader musical responsibilities.
That combination could be particularly interesting for a film aiming at a large pan-India audience.
Why Shashwat Sachdev’s Addition Is Interesting
Sachdev has built a strong reputation for combining contemporary sounds with cinematic arrangements.
His recent work on Dhurandhar brought him considerable attention, while his filmography also includes projects such as Uri: The Surgical Strike, Article 370, Kill and Kesari Chapter 2.
His style is quite different from the massive, percussion-heavy sound often associated with Ravi Basrur’s collaborations with Prashanth Neel.
If the reports are accurate, that contrast could allow Dragon to have different musical identities across its songs and background score.
Dragon Is Set for June 11, 2027
Meanwhile, the film’s theatrical plans remain unchanged.
Dragon is scheduled to release worldwide on June 11, 2027. The release date has been reaffirmed by the makers following earlier speculation about possible delays.
The film is directed by Prashanth Neel and stars Jr. NTR in the lead role. Rukmini Vasanth plays the female lead, while the cast also includes Anil Kapoor, Biju Menon, Khushbu Sundar, Ashutosh Rana and others.
The first glimpse introduced NTR as Luger, a ruthless assassin operating against the backdrop of the international opium trade in 1967.
What Happens Next?
For now, fans will have to wait for an official word from the Dragon team regarding Shashwat Sachdev.
If the reported collaboration is confirmed, the film could offer an interesting musical combination of Ravi Basrur’s mass-driven sound and Shashwat Sachdev’s contemporary musical style.
With the film already carrying huge expectations because of the Jr. NTR–Prashanth Neel combination, another major composer joining the project has added one more talking point ahead of its 2027 release.
