The much-awaited reunion of Ram Charan and Sukumar has taken another step forward. The team behind their upcoming film, tentatively titled RC17, has opened a new production office in Hyderabad, signalling that work on the highly anticipated project is moving into a more active phase.
A traditional pooja ceremony was performed at the newly established office on October 14, 2026, with members of the production team taking part in the proceedings. The office will serve as a base for the film’s pre-production activities.
RC17 Production Office Opens in Hyderabad
The new office has been set up in Madhapur, Hyderabad, and is associated with Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, the production partners behind RC17.
The October 14 event was specifically related to the inauguration and pooja of the production office. It should not be confused with the film’s official launch ceremony.
According to reports, the formal muhurtam ceremony for RC17 is expected to take place later this month.
Ram Charan and Sukumar Reunite After Rangasthalam
RC17 has attracted considerable attention because it brings Ram Charan and Sukumar together again after their hugely successful 2018 film Rangasthalam.
That film became one of the major milestones in Ram Charan’s career and was praised for Sukumar’s storytelling and the performances of its cast.
Their second collaboration has therefore been generating curiosity even though the makers have kept most details about the new story under wraps.
The project was officially announced in March 2024 by Mythri Movie Makers, with the production house describing it as an ambitious collaboration between the actor and director.
What We Know About RC17 So Far
The makers have not yet revealed the complete cast and technical crew.
At present, Ram Charan is confirmed as the lead actor and Sukumar as the director. Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings are associated with the production.
Several reports and industry discussions have mentioned possible casting and technical additions, but those details should be treated as unconfirmed until officially announced.
This is particularly important with the film’s heroine and music department, as reports have circulated about potential names without a final official confirmation.
Ram Charan’s New Look Creates Curiosity
Another reason RC17 has been attracting attention is Ram Charan’s reported physical transformation for the project.
Recent reports have suggested that the actor is preparing for a different appearance and may undergo a significant physical transformation for his character. However, the exact look and character details have not been officially revealed by the makers.
For now, fans will have to wait for the official first-look material before drawing conclusions about his role.
A Film With Huge Expectations
The expectations surrounding RC17 are naturally high.
Sukumar’s success with films such as Rangasthalam and the Pushpa franchise has made his next collaboration with Ram Charan one of the most closely followed projects in Telugu cinema.
There is also considerable curiosity about what kind of story Sukumar has prepared this time.
Interestingly, SS Rajamouli has previously spoken positively about the opening sequence of the Ram Charan-Sukumar project, describing it as particularly hard-hitting.
However, the actual storyline and genre of RC17 remain officially undisclosed.
When Will RC17 Shooting Begin?
The latest reports indicate that the project is moving through its pre-production phase, with regular shooting expected to begin later in October 2026.
The team is reportedly using the newly opened production office to coordinate preparations before moving into the next stage of production.
The exact shooting schedule, locations and other production details have not yet been officially announced.
What Happens Next?
The next major update is expected to be the official launch or muhurtam ceremony of RC17.
Fans are also waiting for announcements regarding:
- The official title
- Female lead
- Supporting cast
- Music director
- First-look poster
- Shooting schedule
- Release plans
With the production office now operational, more updates could start arriving as the project moves closer to regular filming.
Final Take
The opening of the RC17 production office may look like a small production update, but it signals that Ram Charan and Sukumar’s much-awaited reunion is entering a more serious stage of preparation.
For fans who have been waiting since the announcement of their second collaboration, the next few weeks could be particularly interesting. The official film launch and details about the cast and crew should provide a clearer picture of what Sukumar and Ram Charan are planning this time.
For now, RC17 remains one of the most anticipated upcoming Telugu films, with the Rangasthalam combination once again creating enormous curiosity.
